A hacker exploited Ostium's own price-reporting oracle infrastructure by submitting falsified future-dated data, manufacturing fake trading profits and triggering an $18 million payout. The attack is part of a continuing wave of oracle exploits targeting decentralised finance protocols. No information has been released yet on whether the funds can be recovered.
