FCC chair proposes scrapping 39% national TV ownership cap — vote set for August 6
FCC Chairman Brendan Carr has proposed repealing the national ownership cap, which currently bars broadcasters from owning stations covering more than 39% of US TV households. A vote on the proposal is set for August 6. Republicans hold a 2-1 majority on the commission, giving Carr's proposal strong odds of passing.
