Ex-Hungarian FM Szijjártó joins Chinese EV giant BYD in senior role

Peter Szijjártó, former Hungarian foreign minister and close ally of Viktor Orbán, announced Wednesday he is leaving parliament to take a senior management role at Chinese electric vehicle giant BYD. BYD is one of the world's largest EV manufacturers and has been rapidly expanding its presence in Europe, including in Hungary. The move raises questions about the revolving door between Hungarian politics and Chinese business interests.
