Typhoon Bavi Strikes China, Hundreds of Thousands Evacuated
Typhoon Bavi, one of the most powerful tropical cyclones in the region in 2026, struck China with record-breaking rainfall, forcing hundreds of thousands to evacuate. The worst conditions were reported in the city of Fushun in Liaoning province. It is the second major typhoon to hit China in July, following Typhoon Maysak, which killed at least 39 people earlier in the month.
