FCC to vote on August 6 to repeal national TV broadcast ownership cap
The Federal Communications Commission announced it will vote on August 6 on repealing the longstanding cap that prevents any single owner from controlling TV stations reaching more than 39% of national markets. The cap would be replaced with a case-by-case regulatory review of transactions. The move could open the door to significant consolidation in the US broadcast television industry.
