Retired US vice admiral: Controlling the Strait of Hormuz is possible but costly

Retired Vice Admiral Kevin Donegan, former commander of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet and Combined Maritime Forces in the Middle East, told NPR that the United States has the capability to control the Strait of Hormuz. He noted, however, that doing so would come at significant military cost and risk. The strait is a critical chokepoint for global oil supplies.
