Müritz National Park Fire: Unexploded Soviet Ordnance Blocks Firefighters
A major wildfire is burning in Müritz National Park in eastern Germany, on the site of a former Soviet military training ground. Unexploded ordnance scattered across the area prevents firefighters from approaching closer than one kilometre and rules out the use of water-bombing helicopters. Hundreds of local residents have been evacuated.
