Erdogan calls for deportation of suspects linked to failed coup ten years ago
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has called for the deportation of individuals he accuses of involvement in the failed coup attempt a decade ago, so they can face Turkish courts. The coup attempt took place in July 2016. Erdogan has long blamed the Gülen movement for orchestrating the putsch, an accusation Gülen consistently denied before his death.
