Rare gene mutation linked to aggressive hereditary prostate cancer identified

Researchers have described a new hereditary form of prostate cancer linked to a rare genetic mutation that can cause an aggressive disease course and appear much earlier than typical cases. The finding suggests that in some families, cancer risk is encoded in their DNA. The discovery could pave the way for earlier detection and more targeted treatment.
