Astronomers Spot Faintest Exoplanet Ever Seen from Earth — Beta Pictoris d

After more than a decade of searching, astronomers have discovered exoplanet Beta Pictoris d, located 63 light-years from Earth in a system with two previously known planetary siblings. It is 100 times fainter than its sibling Beta Pictoris b, making it the faintest exoplanet ever directly observed from Earth. Beta Pictoris d is a gas giant, smaller and cooler than its siblings, orbiting much farther from its parent star.
