France in talks with US to avoid drug pricing trade probe

France and other nations are negotiating with U.S. officials to avoid trade investigations under Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974 over their pharmaceutical pricing policies. U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer said Washington "would rather have an agreement" than launch probes. Germany is already under investigation, while the UK has already committed to paying more for drugs under an April deal.
