Report: Young men push for women's conscription while opposing their own military service
The report "Filar nie zaplecze" (Pillar, Not Backup) reveals that it is mainly young men who oppose their own mandatory military service who most loudly call for women's conscription. Defence sociologist Weronika Grzebalska argues the conscription debate has dominated Polish public discourse disproportionately to its real significance. Experts stress that women's role in national defence should be considered more broadly than just the military angle.
