Katowice surgeons performed rare brain revascularisation on 15-year-old girl

Neurosurgeons at the Upper Silesian Children's Health Centre in Katowice performed a direct brain revascularisation procedure on a 15-year-old girl who had previously suffered a stroke. The surgery involved joining cerebral blood vessels using sutures as thin as a human hair and is considered one of the most complex vascular operations in neurosurgery. The goal of the procedure is to reduce the risk of further stroke episodes for the young patient.
