Hungary claims to shut door on Russia but remains EU's top buyer of Russian energy
Hungarian Defence Minister Romulusz Ruszin-Szendi declared that Hungary is "closing the door" on Russia and strengthening ties with its NATO allies. He warned that since Budapest distanced itself from Moscow, Russian intelligence services have been trying to enter "through the back door." However, the latest data shows Hungary was the EU's biggest buyer of Russian oil and gas in June, undermining the minister's rhetoric.
