Stripe and Advent make $53 billion bid to acquire PayPal

Stripe, in partnership with private equity firm Advent, has made a $53 billion bid to acquire PayPal. The offer follows an earlier, unsuccessful expression of interest, and PayPal has so far been reluctant to engage with the proposal. If completed, the deal would rank among the largest ever in the fintech sector.
