China's GDP grew just 4.3% in Q2 — weakest since Covid-19 era

China's GDP grew 4.3% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2025, the weakest quarterly growth since late 2022 during the Covid-19 pandemic. Slow domestic consumer demand, despite a surge in exports, is the main driver of the slowdown. Official data was released on Wednesday by China's statistics bureau.
