Firefighters contain Fontainebleau forest fires after more than 2,000 hectares burned

Hundreds of French firefighters managed to contain two fires in the historic Fontainebleau forest near Paris after two days of intense effort, with over 2,000 hectares burned. The local prefect warned, however, that the fires are not yet fully extinguished and crews may need to remain on-site for days or even weeks. Fontainebleau is one of France's largest and most historically significant forests.
