China's economy grows just 4.3% — one of its weakest readings since the 1990s
China's economy expanded by just 4.3% in the three months to June 2025, falling short of the government's 4.5–5% growth target. It is one of the weakest quarterly GDP readings since China began publishing official figures in the early 1990s. The worse-than-expected result deepens concerns about structural imbalances in the Chinese economy.
