Budapest exhibition recreates faces of 16 ancient Roman residents of Aquincum

An exhibition in Budapest has unveiled facial reconstructions of 16 inhabitants of ancient Roman Aquincum, the settlement located on the site of modern-day Hungary's capital. DNA analysis and forensic anthropology were used to recreate their appearances, revealing the diverse ethnic backgrounds of the city's ancient population. It is one of the most ambitious facial reconstruction projects focused on Roman-era remains.
