Iran Threatens to Shut Bab el-Mandeb Strait After Fresh US Strikes

Iran threatened on Wednesday to close the Bab el-Mandeb strait — a critical Red Sea shipping route used by Saudi Arabia to export oil — following a fresh round of US strikes. Tehran had already threatened to shut the Strait of Hormuz. The escalation comes as Washington signalled continued military action against Iran.
