Poland and Italy lead EU coalition to soften CO2 trading rules

Poland, Italy and eight other EU member states have signed a letter calling for a "fair reform" of the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS). The coalition wants to soften the rules as the European Commission finalises its revision proposals. The letter was obtained by the Polish daily "Rzeczpospolita" ahead of the Commission's formal announcement.
