US prepares new mandatory sanctions on Russia after months of negotiations
The Trump administration has agreed to back a revised version of Senator Lindsey Graham's bill that would expand mandatory sanctions against Russian entities and economic sectors. Graham expressed his wish to see the bill passed shortly before his death, after months of turbulent negotiations. US sanctions are considered the most impactful lever of economic pressure on Russia and on President Putin.
