Nancy Grace Roman telescope to hunt black holes from 11 billion years ago

The Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope, set to launch at the end of August 2026, will observe distant black holes consuming stars in events dating back up to 11 billion years. The telescope is designed to detect so-called tidal disruption events (TDEs) from the early universe, giving astronomers an unprecedented window into black hole evolution. Its launch is scheduled for late August 2026.
