India–UK free trade deal takes effect with zero duties on 99% of Indian exports

A landmark India–UK free trade agreement has taken effect, granting zero-duty market access for nearly 99% of India's exports to the United Kingdom. At the same time, US senators have proposed legislation imposing 100% tariffs on India over its continued purchases of Russian oil.
