George Lucas: Focus groups are ruining Hollywood, AI also worries him
George Lucas, creator of Star Wars, criticised Hollywood's reliance on test screenings and focus groups in an interview with A Rabbit's Foot magazine. He argued that studios wrongly let audiences and fans shape films instead of trusting directors' creative visions. Lucas said a film should come from a storyteller truly passionate about their subject, not from audience polling. He also shared concerns about artificial intelligence in the film industry.
