OpenAI developing AI smart speaker – launch planned no earlier than 2027

OpenAI is working on its first hardware product: a screenless portable smart speaker designed to act as an AI-powered personal companion. The device is not expected to launch before 2027. Development is complicated by a lawsuit from Apple alleging misappropriation of trade secrets.
