Cuba has suffered its third nationwide blackout in two weeks following the collapse of its power grid. Fuel has been scarce across the island since January 2026, when US President Donald Trump threatened tariffs on any country supplying oil to Cuba. The blackouts are worsening an already severe financial and economic crisis on the island.
