Judge Piebiak retains judicial status due to paralysed disciplinary system, KRS member says

Monika Frąckowiak, a member of the presidium of the newly constituted National Council of the Judiciary (KRS), says Poland's disciplinary system for judges has been "set in concrete" by the previous government and is effectively dysfunctional. As a result, controversial judge Łukasz Piebiak continues to hold judicial status despite the scandals surrounding him. Frąckowiak argues that without genuine reform, accountability in the judiciary remains impossible.
