Poland cuts debt prescription from 6 to 3 years; 10 years to enforce a court ruling

Poland's codification commission has proposed cutting the basic statute of limitations for civil claims from 6 to 3 years. However, once a court issues a judgment, creditors will have 10 years to enforce the awarded debt. Courts will also be required to check automatically in every case whether a claim has already expired.
