Texas declares emergency over flash flood risk, nearly 60 counties affected
Texas has declared a state of emergency due to a high risk of flash flooding threatening nearly 60 counties, with flash flood warnings in effect for parts of south-central Texas. The announcement comes one year after the Camp Mystic disaster, in which flooding killed 28 people. Severe weather is expected to affect a wide swath of the state.
