WHO Launches First Antiviral Trial Against Bundibugyo Ebola Strain in DRC

The World Health Organization launched its first clinical trial on Tuesday to test whether an antiviral drug can prevent infection with the Bundibugyo strain of Ebola in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The ongoing outbreak has outpaced response efforts and spread beyond known chains of transmission. This is the first trial of its kind specifically targeting the Bundibugyo strain.
