T. rex skeleton 'Gus' sells for $50M — most expensive dinosaur fossil ever

A 67-million-year-old Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton nicknamed "Gus" has sold at auction for $50 million, setting a new world record for the most expensive dinosaur fossil ever sold. The specimen is billed as one of the largest and most complete T. rex skeletons in existence. The previous record was held by a T. rex called "Stan," which fetched $31.8 million in 2020.
