Polish parliament to elect new Ombudsman Friday — Borowski vs Gregorczyk-Abram
The Polish Sejm will elect a new Ombudsman (Commissioner for Human Rights) on Friday to succeed Marcin Wiącek. At a public hearing on 14 July, the two candidates — Adam Borowski (PiS-backed) and Sylwia Gregorczyk-Abram (KO/Lewica-backed) — answered lawmakers' questions about their vision for the office. The vote will determine who leads Poland's top human rights institution.
