Use your premium card statement credits before they expire at year-end 2026

If you have a premium rewards card , you're likely familiar with its statement credits . When cards charge high annual fees , much of that cost is often offset by these perks .

Many benefits reset on a biannual basis, which means you either use them or lose them in each half of the calendar year. With 2026 already past the halfway mark, these credits have reset. So, now we recommend you take stock of which statement credits you have left to redeem before the year ends.

Benefits can also reset monthly , quarterly or annually (either each calendar year or cardholder anniversary), so keep track of when your statement credits begin and end.

Here's a card-by-card breakdown of the benefits you'll want to use before Jan. 1, 2027.

American Express

A trio of Membership Rewards -earning cards and one Hilton cobranded card have statement credits that will expire at the end of 2026.

The Business Platinum Card from American Express

The Business Platinum Card® from American Express has one notable statement credit that fits into this category in exchange for its $895 annual fee (see rates and fees ).

Up to $300 statement credit semiannually (up to $600 per calendar year) on prepaid American Express Fine Hotels + Resorts or The Hotel Collection bookings : This statement credit applies when you book FHR or THC properties through Amex Travel and pay with your Amex Business Platinum. (Hotel Collection stays require a two-night minimum.) This benefit is divided into two up to $300 semiannual statement credits, one for use from January to June and another for use from July to December.

AUGUSTA STONE/THE POINTS GUY American Express Platinum Card

Here's what American Express Platinum Card® members need to keep in mind to help offset its $895 annual fee (see rates and fees ).

Up to $300 statement credit semiannually (up to $600 per calendar year) on prepaid American Express Fine Hotels + Resorts or The Hotel Collection bookings : This statement credit applies when you book FHR or THC through American Express Travel® when you pay with your Amex Platinum. (Hotel Collection stays require a two-night minimum.) This benefit is divided into two up to $300 semiannual statement credits, one for use from January to June and another for use from July to December.

I used my second-half statement credit to take $300 off a two-night stay at The Hiatus Clearwater Beach, Curio Collection by Hilton. This hotel is part of THC, so the total cost ended up being around $277. Plus, I'll get to enjoy multiple benefits, such as a room upgrade at check-in (if available) and a complimentary $100 on-property credit.

American Express Gold Card

If you have the American Express® Gold Card , there's one expiring statement credit to be aware of.

Up to $50 statement credit semiannually (up to $100 per calendar year) for Resy : Pay with your Amex Gold at an eligible U.S. Resy restaurant. No reservation is required. This benefit is divided into two up to $50 semiannual statement credits, one for use from January to June and another for use from July to December. (Enrollment is required.)

ALBI/FACEBOOK Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card

A premium card for Hilton loyalists, the Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card has one semiannual expiring benefit you should note.

Up to $200 Hilton Resorts statement credit semiannually (up to $400 per calendar year) : Use your Hilton Aspire at participating Hilton Resorts to pay for eligible purchases, such as room charges and incidentals. This benefit is divided into two semiannual statement credits, up to $200 each, one for use from January to June and another for use from July to December.

Bilt

Two Bilt cards offer a biannual statement credit that must be used by the end of the year.

Bilt Palladium Card

The Bilt Palladium Card (see rates and fees ) has one benefit expiring at the end of December.

Up to $200 Bilt Travel hotel statement credit biannually (up to $400 per calendar year) : Receive up to $200 in statement credits for hotel bookings made through the Bilt Travel portal. You must book a minimum stay of two nights. You'll receive $200 to use from January to June, and another $200 to use from July to December.

I used this credit to extend my previously mentioned stay at The Hiatus Clearwater Beach, Curio Collection by Hilton by two nights. I stacked the $200 statement credit with $100 in Bilt Cash (up to $100 of Bilt Cash earned rolls over each year) to pay $306 on this portion of the stay.

SUMMER HULL/THE POINTS GUY Bilt Obsidian Card

The Bilt Obsidian Card (see rates and fees ) also has a biannual benefit to redeem by the end of the year.

Up to $50 Bilt Travel hotel statement credit biannually (up to $100 per calendar year) : Receive up to $50 in statement credits for hotel bookings made through the Bilt Travel portal. You must book a minimum stay of two nights. You'll receive $50 to use from January to June, and another $50 to use from July to December.

Chase

There are two Ultimate Rewards -earning cards with statement credits that will expire at the end of the year.

Chase Sapphire Reserve

There are two Chase Sapphire Reserve® (see rates and fees ) statement credits that will reset on Jan. 1, 2027.

Up to $150 StubHub and Viagogo statement credit biannually (up to $300 per calendar year) : Up to $150 in biannual credits to use on event tickets at StubHub and Viagogo for purchases through Dec. 31, 2027 (one-time activation required).

Up to $150 statement credit for dining at Sapphire Reserve Exclusive Tables via OpenTable biannually (up to $300 per calendar year) : Up to $150 in biannual credits for prime-time reservations at Sapphire Reserve Exclusive Tables. No prepayment or payment through OpenTable is required.

I used the StubHub credit in the first half of the year for tickets to see Sombr in concert. I plan on using the next half for a college football game this fall.

A quick reminder: The $500 statement credit for purchases made through The Edit is not biannually restricted. Cardholders receive two statement credits of up to $250 for prepaid stays of two nights or more. These credits can be used at any time of the year, but they cannot be combined.

CAROLINE TANNER/THE POINTS GUY Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business

The Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business℠ (see rates and fees ) also has a pair of statement credits resetting after 2026.

Up to $200 ZipRecruiter statement credit biannually (up to $400 per calendar year) : Up to $200 in ZipRecruiter statement credits. You'll receive the benefit from January through June and again from July through December for purchases made through ZipRecruiter (through Dec. 31, 2027).

Up to $50 Giftcards.com statement credit biannually (up to $100 per calendar year) : Up to $50 in biannual credits (up to $100 per calendar year). (Make your purchase via giftcards.com/reservebusiness; through Oct. 31, 2028.)

Citi

There's one premium Citi card with a credit that you'll need to use before 2026 ends.

BLACKLANE Citi Strata Elite Card

The Citi Strata Elite℠ Card (see rates and fees ) is a premium option with one benefit you'll need to track.

Up to $100 Blacklane statement credit biannually (up to $200 per calendar year) : Up to $100 in biannual credits for Blacklane chauffeur bookings, one to use from January to June and another to use from July to December.

Bottom line

Maximizing your statement credits is one of the best ways to offset a high annual fee. If you have not yet redeemed the statement credits on this list, remember they expire at the end of the year. So, don't wait.
