WHO: 80% of new Ebola cases in Congo from unknown transmission chains
The Ebola outbreak in eastern Congo is "continuing to outpace response efforts," WHO emergencies chief Chikwe Ihekweazu warned after visiting Bunia in Ituri province. He said 80% of new cases are outside known contact lists, meaning untracked transmission chains. Many victims are dying in their communities without ever reaching a health facility.
