Chinese display maker BOE has launched mass production at its new OLED plant in Chengdu — the first 8.6-generation facility of its kind in China — at a cost of roughly $9.3 billion. The plant will produce 10 million OLED panels in its first year, with output rising significantly in year two. Representatives from Lenovo, Asus, MSI, Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, Honor, ZTE, Transsion and Nothing attended the opening, with the first product being a 14-inch OLED panel for Asus, Acer and Lenovo laptops, supporting 240 Hz VRR refresh rates.
