US consumer prices fell in June for the first time since 2020, ending a six-year run of increases. A key gauge of underlying, or core, inflation was little changed for the month. The data eases pressure on the Federal Reserve to raise interest rates, according to RBC Capital Markets chief economist Frances Donald.
