Baby boomers are cutting back on alcohol more than any other generation

According to market researcher IWSR, just 71% of baby boomers — those born between 1946 and 1964 — drank alcohol in the past six months, the lowest rate of any generation and down 2 percentage points from three years ago. Meanwhile Gen Z's drinking rate rose from 66% to 74% over the same period. The overall adult drinking rate stands at 76%.
