White House crypto chief Patrick Witt takes military leave as Clarity Act deadline looms

Patrick Witt, 37, the White House's top crypto adviser, will begin a months-long military leave of absence on July 27 to complete training with the Georgia Army National Guard's Judge Advocate General (JAG) programme, which would qualify him as a military attorney. His departure comes as the Senate races to advance the Clarity Act before its August recess. Witt and the White House declined to comment on the reports.
