The new Alfa Romeo C-SUV will debut in the fourth quarter of 2027.
It will be produced in Melfi, Italy, using the STLA Medium platform.
Multi-energy options will include hybrid and fully electric setups.
Alfa Romeo has released a fresh teaser of the upcoming compact SUV that will eventually take over from the Tonale, the model we also got as the rebadged Dodge Hornet in North America before Stellantis pulled the plug this past January after a four-year run.

The Italian company has confirmed that the still-unnamed model arrives in the fourth quarter of 2027, though nobody has said whether Stellantis will try to sell it in America. Worth remembering that Dodge’s recent product plan included a model called GLH, short for Goes Like Hell , which teased a crossover-like hatch. That vehicle could be related to the Alfa shown here, giving the design a second life on this side of the Atlantic.

The new Alfa broke cover during Stellantis Investor Day 2026 back in May , when a 3D mockup revealed a low, athletic silhouette and sharp styling cues. This latest teaser swings around to the back, where you can pick out the broad shoulders, the steeply raked rear glass, and the horizontal LED taillights running clear across the tail.

That aggressive stance suggests the compact SUV is squaring off against the Cupra Formentor , Audi Q3 Sportback, and BMW X2. Within Alfa’s own range, it slots directly above the Junior, currently the best-seller of the Biscione brand.

The company says the C-SUV was penned by their Centro Stile in Turin and will be built at the Melfi plant in Italy. Its launch timing lines up with earlier reports that Tonale production will end at the Pomigliano d’Arco facility in November 2027.

Emanuele Cappellano, Chief Operating Officer of Stellantis Enlarged Europe, spoke about the new Alfa Romeo during the National Automotive Industry Roundtable organized by the Italian Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy. According to Quattroruote, he said the C-SUV “embodies a true Alfa Romeo in character and style, and that it’s truly beautiful!”

Platform, Power, And What Follows
The new model will ride on the STLA Medium architecture and comes with “multi-energy powertrains,” which points to the hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric setups already offered in Stellantis siblings such as the Peugeot 3008, Citroen C5 Aircross, Opel Grandland, Jeep Compass, and DS No7.

Alfa Romeo is also developing a premium compact hatchback alongside the C-SUV . That one should arrive later as a spiritual successor to the 147 and Giulietta, riding on the new STLA One architecture.
