Astronomers Scan Exoplanet K2-18b for Alien Signals – None Found
Astronomers used the VLA and MeerKAT radio telescopes to conduct an unusually powerful survey of exoplanet K2-18b, one of the most promising candidates for extraterrestrial life. Advanced software sifted through millions of signals and filtered out Earth-based interference, but found no convincing artificial radio transmissions. The project nonetheless demonstrated a new methodology that will make future SETI searches significantly faster and more effective.
