US CPI inflation at 3.5% in June, below market expectations of 3.8%

The US Department of Labor reported that the consumer price index rose 3.5% year-on-year in June, below the market forecast of 3.8%. In May, the figure stood at 4.2%. The decline was driven partly by easing energy prices.
