Polish forest fungi communicate via electrical impulses after rain

A study published in the journal "Fungal Ecology" by Japanese researchers found that electrical activity in fungi increases sharply after rainfall, both in Polish and Japanese forests. The experiments were conducted in real forest conditions rather than in a laboratory. The findings add to evidence, gathered since the 1970s, that fungi communicate through electrical impulses.
