Covid inquiry: faulty PPE cost NHS £10bn and left healthcare staff dangerously unprotected

The UK Covid inquiry has found that NHS healthcare workers were left dangerously exposed to infection due to failures in personal protective equipment (PPE). Around £10 billion was wasted on inadequate or faulty gear. The report concludes that staff could not properly protect themselves or the patients in their care.
