Jane Campion remembers Sam Neill: 'He was radiating peace, beaming love'

Director Jane Campion has shared a personal tribute to Sam Neill, recalling their first meeting in Auckland ahead of production on The Piano, in which Neill played the repressed and violent Stewart. Campion writes that her hands shook with nerves when she met him at a café in Vulcan Lane. She describes the last time she saw him in hospital, where he was "radiating peace, beaming love."
