China's monthly car exports top 1 million for first time as trade surplus nears $1 trillion

China exported more than 1 million cars in June 2026 for the first time ever, as overall export shipments rose 27%, official customs data showed. The strong trade performance puts China on track to match or beat its record $1 trillion trade surplus from last year. This comes despite ongoing tariffs imposed by both the US and the EU on Chinese goods.
