France to join NATO Forward Land Forces in Finland, announced at Ankara summit

At the NATO summit in Ankara, France announced its intention to join the multinational Forward Land Forces (FLF) in Finland. The forces are commanded by Sweden and are based in Boden, Sweden, and Rovaniemi, Finland. They form a key element of NATO's deterrence and defence on the alliance's northern flank.
