NASA awards $600 million for four Moon missions to build a permanent base

NASA has awarded nearly $600 million for four commercial lunar landing missions planned for late 2028. Each mission will carry an identical trio of instruments to improve Moon navigation, study landing-generated dust, and map the radiation environment. The agency also announced plans for new rovers, communication satellites and cargo missions as it prepares to establish a permanent Moon base.
