NASA's Perseverance completes a Mars marathon in record time

NASA's Perseverance rover has driven 42.195 kilometres across Mars, completing the equivalent of a full marathon. It reached the milestone on its 1,890th Martian day — in just five years and four months, less than half the time it took the previous record holder, the Opportunity rover. The achievement marks a major milestone in Mars surface exploration.
