12 US states seek court injunction to block Paramount-Warner Bros. merger by July 22

California and 11 other US states have filed for a temporary restraining order and a preliminary injunction to halt the Paramount-Warner Bros. merger while their antitrust lawsuit proceeds. In a motion filed Monday evening, the states asked a federal judge to act by July 22. Paramount had previously notified the states of the planned closing date for the deal.
